Costa Rica Continued - Arenal
Arenal is an area famous for its volcano which has been regularly active in the near past - certainly, it had been smoking on our last visit. Apart form the remarkable scenery, it is home to an amazing collection of amphibians and snakes with some of the best experts in the country based there to help with the handling -some of the most venomous snakes in the world are found here so it pays to go out with experts.

The photographic options were amazing but required a lot of careful work balancing daylight and flash to get the effects that we were after.
The Arenal Observatory hotel was more of a romantic hotel destination for most of the guests. While there were many couples walking hand-in-hand in the gardens after dinner, there were just two fools with head torches, flash guns and camera packs searching for frogs in the surrounding forest at night.
